FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Bonnie Jean Carrington Ross, 83, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with Parkinson's disease, November 29, 2015, in her home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 1 pm in Walstone Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Wallis presiding. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

Bonnie was a loving mother and wife. Over the years she served the community as president of the PTA, voting poll volunteer, and as a member of the Cumberland Co. School Board for several years. She was a faithful and active member of Walstone Memorial Baptist Church. She was also an active member of the Cumberland Co. Shrinettes. She worked outside the home for over 10 years as a dental receptionist. She was also a graduate of Fayetteville High School.

The family would like give a heartfelt thank you to Jim Heine, PA and the staff at Fayetteville Family Medical; and also to the caregivers, Cindy, Jackie and Denise for their love and special care.

Bonnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jean Ross; and a brother, James Sterling Carrington Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James E. Ross; 3 daughters, Cynthia Ross Place and husband Darman of Tennessee, Nancy Ross Barfield and husband Robert of Fayetteville, and Robyn Ross Nix and husband Troy of Fayetteville; one sister, Patricia Ennett of Sneads Ferry; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to either the Parkinson's Foundation, the Shriners Hospitals, or to Walstone Baptist Church.
