FAYETTEVILLE - Retired U.S. Army Master Sgt. Burrell Andrew Wilson Jr., 73, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg. Mr. Wilson was a member of Special Forces and retired from the U.S. Army as a master sergeant. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Anne Wilson Bowers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2009, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville. Burial with military honors will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, March 19, 2009, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson is survived by his companion, Shirley Farrow of Fayetteville; sons, Guy Andrew Wilson and Jay Alexander Wilson, both of Fayetteville; daughter, Gay Annette Wilson of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Brian Michael Simering, Brandon Riddle Wilson and Jason Andrew Simering; and three great-grandchildren. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
