FAYETTEVILLE - Cameron Averitt Maxwell, 15, of Fayetteville, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. Cameron was good and kind. He was a freshman at Village Christian Academy, where he received the Christian Character award and was a member of student government and journalism. He played basketball, where he received the MVP Award and loved attending Carolina games. As an active member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, he participated in choir, mission activities and Sunday school. He brought humor to those around him and shared his faith and love with others. Cameron is survived by his maternal grandparents, John D. and Henrianne C. Fox of Fayetteville; paternal grandparents, Faye S. Maxwell of Fayetteville and Bill Maxwell Sr. of Fayetteville; and maternal great-grandmother Sallie B. Fox of Pensacola, Fla. He is likewise survived by his aunts and uncles, J. Bryan Fox and wife Stephanie, Kerry F. Garlington and husband Brent, Lynette M. McDonald, Janet M. Prewitt and husband Tad, as well as cousins, Loni Fox, Thomas and Emma Claire Garlington, Olivia McDonald, Haywood McDonald, Elizabeth Gilluly and husband Christopher and Edward Prewitt; and many other dear family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today Friday, Nov. 6, at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, with visitation to follow in the Gathering Hall. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of the Maxwell family to the Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Youth Fund, 701 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28305, or Village Christian Academy Athletic Fund, 908 S.
