Carlton Lynn Barrett,59,passed away on August 13, 2016 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born on April 18, 1957 in Fayetteville, NC. He was the son of the late Harold and Thomasine Barrett. Carlton graduated from Douglas Byrd High and attended Campbell University for 2 years before beginning work at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Graveside services will be Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 10:00 am in Big Rockfish Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Archie Barringer, officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service on Thursday.

Carlton is survived by his wife, Sally Spiegelberg Barrett, and daughters Allison Anne Barrett, Casey Barrett Cook and husband Mark and granddaughters, Kaylie Cook and Mia Cook. Carl is also survived by his brothers Harold Douglas Barrett,Jr. and wife Josie Mondell Barrett, Thomas Franklin Barrett, sister Charlotte Barrett Johnson and husband William Shaw Johnson and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Carlton was a member of Saint Patrick Church of Fayetteville, NC as well as the Knights of Columbus. His other passions in life were the care and nurturing of animals, taking care of his Mom and Dad, watching sports and following his beloved Atlanta Braves.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cumberland County Animal Shelter, the ASPCA or a charity of your choice.
