Carmen Haydee
(Rodriguez) Rosado
May 29, 1929 – January 9, 2025
Carmen Haydee "Mami/Heidi" Rodriguez Rosado, 95, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, after a short stay at Haymount Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. She was formerly a resident of Harmony of Hope Mills.
Haydee was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico on May 29, 1929, to the late Ernesto D. Rodriguez and Pilar Robert Rodriguez. She was a military wife who took great pride in raising her son and opening her home to everyone. One of her greatest loves was volunteering within the community and one of her passions was as a volunteer at the Ft. Bragg Thrift Shop for over 30 years. Her hobbies included reading, gardening and watching her Spanish soap operas. Haydee enjoyed traveling with family and always cherished the times she would travel to Puerto Rico to visit her family and friends. Her last trip was to Missouri for her great grandson's military graduation two years ago. She was her happiest when she was spending time with her family, especially Sunday's where she would prepare a large meal for everyone to enjoy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Silvio Rosado-DeClet; her only child, Manuel E. DeJesus; and two sisters, Letty Rodriguez and Laura Morales.
She was the oldest of her sisters and is survived by her sister, Pilar Robert; grandchildren, Evelyn L. Smith and husband Mark, Manuel E. DeJesus, Jr. and wife Pamela, Jillian Lees and husband Christopher; great grandchildren, Alysia DeJesus, Riley Smith, Aidan Smith, Kayla Lees, Christopher Lees, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel at 4:00 pm. The burial will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Main Post Cemetery at Ft. Liberty.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Heart Association.
