Carolyn Elaine King, 88, of Fayetteville passed away Monday June 10, 2019 at the NC State Veterans Home.

She was born August 12, 1930 in Asheville, NC to the late Sadie Rutherford and Richard Smith.

Carolyn served her country in the U.S. Army as a nurse during the Korean War. She loved reading, gardening, and shopping. Carolyn will be remembered as a woman of faith as well as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters Nancy Grayson and Amy Grayson; four sons Marc Grayson, Chris Grayson, Phil Grayson, and Tim Grayson; fourteen grandchildren Kiana, Ronnie, Joey, Alicia, Jessica, Taylor, Jordan, Nick, Noah, Ariana, Lana, Sable, Hayley, and Sarah; five great-grandchildren Desean, Deja, Alex, Kiana, and Jesiah; a sister Linda Ezell; four brothers Fareed Ansari, Steve Jackson, Chauncey Jackson, and Benjamin Maloud; and many nieces and nephews.
