Mrs. Carrie Lou Culbreth Andrews, 88, of Fayetteville, died Friday, June 26, 2009. She was the daughter of the late James Robert and Virginia McCorquodale Culbreth. Both died when she was an infant. She was reared by an older brother and his wife, the late James Edward and Elsie Johnson Culbreth. Mrs. Andrews was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joe D. Andrews, and her brother, Thomas L. Culbreth. The funeral will be conducted at 3 pm Monday, June 29, 2009, in Jernigan Warren Chapel with the Rev. Tom Counts officiating. The burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. She is survived by her four daughters, Donna Joe Collins of Emerald Isle, Jimmie Lou Britt and husband Harry Lee of Dallas NC, Sharon Faith Gaines and husband Alan of Chapel Hill, Melanie Gay Autry and husband Sam of Stedman; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and niece, Anne Boswell of Fayetteville. The family will receive friends for an hour before the service Monday afternoon from 2 to 3 pm in Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the children's ministry at the New Testament Baptist Church, 2905 Ramsey St, Fayetteville NC 28301.
