Mrs. Cecelia Gardner Godwin, 90 of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Cecelia was the owner and operator of Stewart House Antiques for over twenty years. She was a charter member of Cross Creek Garden Club. Mrs. Godwin was preceded in death by her parents Annie and Zebulon Gardner, Sr.; her husband Vardell Godwin; son Curt Godwin and sisters Mary Walters and Rebecca Mabry. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Benfield, officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. She is survived by her son Dell Godwin and wife Melanie; daughters Gayla Godwin and Dana Godwin Mizelle and husband Gerald; a brother, Zebolon Gardner Jr. 8 grandchildren Kelly Godwin, Virginia Cooper, Luke Godwin, Andrew Port, Matthew Porter, Eric Porter, Landon Godwin, Ava Godwin and 2 great-grandchildren Jackson and Kinley Cooper. Several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any Animal Charity of one's choice. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
