Retired US Army SFC Charles Lee Adair, 81, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He served in the Army for 24 years, including a station in Germany, and tours in both Korean and Vietnam wars.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 4 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with military honors. Rev. Paul Worley will preside. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 2:30 to 4 pm at the funeral home.
Charles was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Dennis Adair and Michael Adair.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Adair, of the home; 3 stepdaughters, Cheryl Ann Newman of Fayetteville, Joette Sue Posada of Cartersville, GA, and Vicki Smith of Phoenix City, AL; stepson, Michael Posada of Key West, FL; sister, Sidney Jean Haulk of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
