Obituary

Retired US Army SFC Charles Lee Adair, 81, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He served in the Army for 24 years, including a station in Germany, and tours in both Korean and Vietnam wars. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 4 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with military honors. Rev. Paul Worley will preside. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 2:30 to 4 pm at the funeral home. Charles was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Dennis Adair and Michael Adair. He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Adair, of the home; 3 stepdaughters, Cheryl Ann Newman of Fayetteville, Joette Sue Posada of Cartersville, GA, and Vicki Smith of Phoenix City, AL; stepson, Michael Posada of Key West, FL; sister, Sidney Jean Haulk of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, F.A.P.S., 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303.
