Charles Alan
("Chuck") Hamilton
January 3, 1954 – January 8, 2022
Charles Alan "Chuck" Hamilton, 68, of Hope Mills, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Chuck, as his friends and family knew him, was a lifelong resident of Cumberland County. He was born on January 3, 1954, to the late Basil Lee and Melba Alphin Hamilton. With his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Hamilton, and son, Ricky Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cavanna, who always says that he was her hero. He is also survived by 6 children, Charles Hamilton II, Joseph Hamilton (Crystal), Rebecca Deasy (Robert), Kristin Smith (Brandon), Buffy Gregory (Larry), Daniel Moore (Lyn), and 16 grandchildren.
Chuck was a beloved member of New Life Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC. He enjoyed serving his church and community through being an usher, Sunday School Teacher, and driver for the Bus Ministry. He truly loved the children who rode on his bus, had a tender heart for the unborn, and hoped to be an example of Christ's love for all. Chuck worked for Vance Johnson Plumbing for more than 30 years where he was a respected member of the team and made many relationships along the way. He was a wonderful teacher of all things, great storyteller, and die-hard North Carolina Tar Heels fan. He loved his friends and family, his old truck ("Rusty"), bluegrass gospel, and classic rock. Above all this, he loved the LORD.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2pm at New Life Baptist Church, 6501 Camden Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28306. Entombment service will follow immediately after at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the New Life Baptist Church Bus Ministry, which was very near and dear to his heart.
Arrangements by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
