CHARLOTTE - Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Charles Cooper, 77, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, in Monroe. He was an Air Force veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was also a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with Rev. Eddie Wood officiating. The burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m Wednesday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Betty Bill Cooper of the home; daughter, Donna Cooper Briggs of Charlotte; son, Chuck Cooper of Monroe; sisters, Geneva Matthews, Marie Strickland and Ruby Jackson, all of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren, Jonathan, Rebekah, Christopher, and Marissa.
