Charles Payton Gibson, Sr, 79 of Fayetteville, Passed away Tuesday November 9, 2010 in his home. The funeral will be Saturday November 13, 2010 at 11am in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel with the rev. Dennis Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park West on Raeford Road. The Family will receive friends Saturday from 10am to 11am at Jernigan-Warren. . He was preceded in death by his wife Doris H. Gibson and a brother, Bruce Gibson He retired after 42 years civil service at Ft. Bragg, was a longtime member of Cypress Lakes Golf Club and a member of the cape fear seniors and a member of Northwood Temple Church, He was an avid traveler and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a marine Veteran. He is survived by a dear friend Julie Gainous of Fayetteville, A son Charles P. "Chuck" Gibson, Jr and wife Rose of Hope Mills, NC, a sister Rebecca Keeter of Morehead City, NC, a brother, Johnny Gibson of Fayetteville and 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas and Heather Gibson all of Hope Mills, NC.
