FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army 1st Sgt. Charles P. \\"Pat\\" Smith, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars. He was an active and dedicated lifetime Boy Scout of the Occoneechee Council. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Main Post Chapel on Fort Bragg. Burial will follow, Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Betty J. Smith; a daughter, Sandra Fowler of Fayetteville; sons, David Smith of Charlotte, and Michael Smith of Fort Riley, Kan.; grandchildren, Beth Sparr of Mannford, Okla., Linda Sparr of Rocky Mount, Laura Smith of Charlotte, Sean Smith of Fort Riley; and a great-grandchild, Alyssa Sparr of Mannford. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
