MSGT Charles "Chuck"  S.  Ward, (U.S. Air Force retired) 73, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Charles was born on April 11, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Roderick Bush Ward and Ruthanne "Rani Abele Ward. He was retired form the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service and from Civil Service where he worked as a Computer Technician.

He enjoyed computers, NASCAR, and Ham radio, His friends called him Chuck and Ham's knew him as "KJ4RV".

A Gathering of Friends will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 1 to 4 pm at Grace Independent Baptist Church in Sanford.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Ann Ward; sons, Gregory Hickman and wife Debbie, Allen Ward; daughter-in-law, Janet Lambert, and husband Rich; brothers, Stephen Ward (Laura), Clifford Ward; sister, Jane Filder (Tom); 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
