After a lengthy illness, Dr. Charles Lewis Wells of Fayetteville, died peacefully on April 15, 2010. He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Lewis E. Wells of Farmville, VA. Born on August 30, 1933 he was a graduate of Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and university of Pittsburgh Medical School. He completed his residency in Danville Virginia and then moved to Fayetteville where he served as pathologist at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center from 1969 - 1992. During a semi-retirement in 1992 he served as Coumberland County Medical Examiner and practiced at the VA hospital. Dr Wells was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis "Pat" Wells. He is survived by his children, Patty Wells Rogers of Los Angeles, Mike Wells of Fuquay-Varina, Tom Wells of Holly Springs and a brother Dr. Thomas J. Wells of Salt Lake City. He has 6 Granchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Sunday April 18, 2010 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, a graveside service will be conducted Monday April 19, 2010 at 11:00am in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street with Dr. J.
