Obituary

Charlotte Carrier Lovette went home to be with her Lord on August 12, 2025.

Born on May 10, 1936, in Mecklenburg County, Charlotte was the daughter of the late William Houston Carrier and Edna Willis Carrier. She graduated from A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis in 1956 and went on to earn a degree in Medical Records from Lees-McRae Junior College in 1958. It was during her time at Lees-McRae that she met the love of her life, James Sidney "Sid" Lovette. The two were married soon after and began a life together filled with devotion, family, and cherished friendships.

During college, Charlotte and Sid met Bill and Saundra Morton, with whom they formed a lifelong bond. Together, they shared countless memories traveling and spending time at their beach home in Cherry Grove, enjoying card games and fellowship. Charlotte and Saundra remained dear friends throughout the years—a friendship that brought immense joy and comfort.

Charlotte's professional life included working with Dr's Wright and Hall, Dr. O.L. McFayden, and later retiring from FAHEC. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and professionalism, and she was deeply loved by colleagues and patients alike.

A devoted member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church since 1964, Charlotte actively served in the United Methodist Women and spent many Sundays delivering flowers and recordings of the service to those unable to attend. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her service to others was a true reflection of her loving spirit.

Charlotte will be remembered for her infectious laughter, quick wit—an inheritance from her father—and her ability to bring joy to every room she entered. Even in her final days, she kept her sense of humor and loving nature.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, James Sidney "Sid" Lovette; her daughter, Laura Ann Langevin and husband Paul; son, Joseph Scott Lovette; brother, Bill Carrier and wife Erana; grandchildren, Parker Langevin and wife Caitlin, Anna Langevin, Nathan S. Lovette, and Grant E. Lovette; and great-granddaughter Charlotte Elle "Charlie" Langevin, who proudly carries on her name.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A celebration of Charlotte's life will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
