Obituary

Cherry Brock Horne, 90 of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Cherry was born on February 15, 1925 in Sampson County to the late Cherry Ella Naylor and Rans Bascum Brock.

She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church since 1950 and served as librarian at the church. Cherry retired as a deputy from the Cumberland County Register of Deeds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Eugene Horne and brothers; Wade Brock, William W. Brock and Dallas Brock.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in Temple Baptist Church 3519 Sanderosa Dr. Fayetteville, N.C. 28312 with the Rev. Kelly Bullard and Dr. Robert Lewis, officiating. The burial will be private in the Johnson Brock Family Cemetery in Autryville. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

She is survived by her sons, Lloyd P. Horne and wife Pattie of Fayetteville and Reid A. Horne; sister, Mannie Spell of Autryville; brothers, John A. Brock of Autryville; David Brock of Fayetteville ; Sherwood Brock of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Lloyd P. Horne, Jr., PhD. (Jodie); Kevin A. Horne (Nancy); April Horne Obin (Matthew); Bryan Horne (April); Dr. Christopher Horne (Julie) and great-grandchildren; Zackary Horne, Avery Horne, Andrew Obin, Brandon Obin (Stephanie, Peyton Obin, Hunter Eugene Horne, Brady Horne, Chloe Marie Horne, Addelyn Elizabeth Horne and Tyler Wright; and great-great grandson Jonathon Obin.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church 3519 Sanderosa Dr. Fayetteville, N.C. 28312.
