Cheryl Ann Holmes, 64, of Fayetteville died on December 6, 2016. A graduate of NC State University with a B.S. in Textile Chemistry, she worked in the textile industry for many years. She ended her long career at 71st Senior High School teaching chemistry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Nickels and Alda Cox Holmes.

She is survived by her loving son, Christopher Alan Holmes and his wife Megan of Rancho Murieta, CA, her beloved grandchildren Paige and Zachary; her sister Carol and her husband Bruce Dillard of Raleigh, Dawn Holmes; her brothers, Gary and his wife Tina of Lake James, Bill and his wife Kitty of Youngsville, and Chris Holmes of Fayetteville; and her many devoted nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17 at 2 pm in Berean Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family following the service.
