FAYETTEVILLE - Christopher Wayne \\"Chris\\" Clark, 27, was taken from us suddenly on Sunday, July 12, 2009. Chris was born May 22, 1982, in Fayetteville. He graduated from South View Senior High in 2000. He attended Fayetteville State University. Chris worked at Wal-Mart Distribution Center for six years. During the last three years, he worked security at several establishments in Fayetteville and Lumberton. Christopher was a proud member of the Air Force Reserve, stationed out of Charleston, S.C. He served at Pope Air Force Base with the 53rd Aerial Port Squadron. Chris enjoyed many activities but baseball and hunting were his passion. Christopher's life was filled with many friends who loved him. To his family, he was a nephew, brother and son who was cherished. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Lee Clark, and his maternal grandmother, Vernell Clark. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight, Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2009, at Manna Church on Cliffdale Road. Master Sgt. Lock will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Bethany Church of God of Prophecy on Maxwell Road. Christopher is survived by a blended family: Parents, Wayne and Lori Clark of Wade; three sisters, Stephanie Lynn Clark and Meghan Eris Clark of the home, and Elicia Kieser and her husband, Geoff, of Fayetteville; and a brother, Christopher Jacob Furtado of Chicago. His extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins, Tommy and Sandy Clark of Wade, and their son, Jason Clark, wife, Beth, and daughter, Olivia, of Charlotte; Richard and Tammy Clark and their son, Jonathan Clark, of Fayetteville; and cousins, Dori Painter, Heather Esteven and Allen Clark. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
