Obituary

Christopher "Chris" Paul Hlavac, 68, of Little River, SC, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Seacoast Hospital in Little River.

Chris was born on June 25, 1956, in Darien, Connecticut to the late Edward Hlavac and Elizabeth Mary Lasko Hlavac.

He was a graduate of J. M. Wright Technical School in Stanford, Connecticut and upon graduating, he joined the US Army where he served with the 82nd Airborne.  His last military assignment was with FORSCOM. Chris enjoyed working on his house and his cars. He was known for taking things apart and putting them back together. He enjoyed sailing and was an avid clock collector.

Most of all Chris loved being a Papa. He was a loving father, brother, papa, uncle and friend to all who knew him.

A Memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A Committal service will be held at a later date at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his brother, Edward J. Hlavac.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Hlavac; sister, Betsy Hlavac; brother, Thomas Hlavac; grandchildren, Addysen and Teagan Nunnery; and his nephew Matthew Hlavac.
