Claire was born on 24 Nov 1926 in Wiesbaden, Germany. After she finished school she moved to Munich and met her husband SFC John C. Miedema. They came to Fayetteville after her husband received orders for Fort Bragg. She was retired from Macy's. She is preceded in death by her husband SFC John C. Miedema.

Claire is survived by her sister Therese Weidenbach, her niece Ute Weidenbach-Hess and nephew Roger Weidenbach all from Idstein, Germany.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 8th at 12:00 am Funeral Home at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 310 Murchison Rd Spring Lake, NC. Entrance to the cemetery is now located on Bragg Blvd.

In lieu of flowers Claire requested donations be made to FAPS (Fayetteville Animal Protection Society) 3927 Bragg Boulevard, Fayetteville, NC 28303
