Clara Parsley Skaggs, 100 of Fayetteville and formerly of Marion, N.C. passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 in Autumn Care in Fayetteville.

She was born May 31, 1915 in Sherman, Texas to the late Myrtle and Claude Parsley. After marrying Luther G. Skaggs, they moved to Marion, North Carolina, where she lived most of her married life. She had resided in Fayetteville for 14 years. She was a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. John Cook, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in McDowell Memorial Park in Marion, N.C. with Dr. Scott Hagaman, officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther G. Skaggs; son-in-law, John M. Haire and granddaughter, Lisa Haire.

Mrs. Skaggs was survived by her daughters, Carolyn Surrett and husband John of Fayetteville and Marjorie Haire of Manassas, Virginia; grandchildren, Sherry Rosenberg and husband Barry and J. Scott Surrett and wife Yvonne; great-grandchildren, Neil Rosenberg, Greg Rosenberg, and Alexa Smith-Surrett.
