Clinton H. Gentry, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008. Mr. Gentry was a retired U.S. Army veteran, a former Cumberland County health inspector and the owner of Gentry Rentals. He was a member of Phoenix No. 8 Masonic Lodge and St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted in Mars Hill Baptist Church in Mississippi, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Methodist Church at a later date. Mr. Gentry is survived by his wife, Mary Pauline of the home; and a daughter, Melissa Stroup, and son-in-law, Larry Stroup, of Washington, D.C. He is also survived by four brothers, James Gentry, Bobby Gentry, John Gentry and William Gentry, all of Mississippi; three sisters, Patricia Pounds, Hilda Myers and Helen Allday, all of Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia Lee and William Gentry; and a brother, Woodard Gentry. He will be forever loved and cherished.
