Attorney Colleen Kelly McCarthy, 44 Colleen Kelly McCarthy left this world Friday morning April 1st, 2011 to be with the Lord and her daughter Celia after a long struggle with cancer. Colleen was a well respected local Attorney at Law whose drive and inner sense of fairness brought much peace and stability to the lives of her clients. She was a working mother when she graduated Suma Cum Lade at Fayetteville State University and went on to succeed at Campbell University School of Law. Colleen often worked for little money to even the balance of justice for those with little means and protected all children as if they were her own. She was a vivacious and caring person who left an impression everywhere she went and leaves a deep loss in the lives of all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her daughter Celia, her older brother William Connor and her paternal grandparents who raised her. She is survived by her husband John McCarthy of Fayetteville, her son Timothy A. Kelly of Fayetteville, her first husband and his wife Dr. Timothy J. and Loree Kelly of Hendersonville, her brother Brian Connor of Fayetteville, her father David Conner and mother Teri Dixon. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services with be held on her 45th birthday, Monday April 4th, 2011, at Jernigan Warren funeral home with visitation from 2-3 pm. The funeral will be at 3pm in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest with her daughter at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, NC.
