Mrs. Connie Sills Elliott, 59, of Fayetteville, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, December 30, 2011.
She graduated from Massey Hill High in 1970. She worked and retired from the Cumberland County School System. She began working at Douglas Byrd Senior High in 1984 and retired from there in 2004. She worked as a teacher assistant, clerk, and receptionist. In 2005 she returned to work with the Cumberland County School System at Anne Chesnut Middle School and decided in July 2010 to permanently retire with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Bell Thornton and Charlie Edgar Sills.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Wayne Elliott, Sr., son, Kenny Elliott and wife Karen of Stedman, daughter, Marsha Elliott Currie, and husband Brian of Hope Mills, sister, Debra Sills Flowers and husband, Jerry of Hope Mills, brother, Leon Greene of Florida, 3 grandchildren, Ryan Currie, Kaleb Elliott, and Emma Sue Currie. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2PM at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, with burial following at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St.
