FAYETTEVILLE - Cora Betts Gulley Bailey, 101 of Fayetteville passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving caregivers.

Born June 13, 1915, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Victor Gulley and Viola Jones Gulley. She was preceded to Heaven by her husband of 57 years, Benjamin Bruce Bailey, and her brother Arthur Blye Gulley.

Betts is survived by her nephew, Victor Gulley (Gabriella) of Emerald Isle, NC; sister-in-law, Sue Bailey of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Paul DePaola and nephew, Steve DePaola (Heather) of Massachusetts; as well as her family of caregivers.

Funeral service to celebrate her life will be Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11 am in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with internment to follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Betts' passion in life was helping people, growing herbs, gardening and sharing love with others.
