Fayetteville,NC- Staff Sgt Craig Steven Smith(retired) 45, of Linden,N.C. passed away Wednesday June 6, 2012 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Craig was born November 28, 1966 in Spartanburg, SC; residing there until he joined the army at age 18. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Betty Tipton Smith, and a brother Ken Smith. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 2pm to 3pm at Praise Fellowship Church, the funeral service will be held at Praise Fellowship Church in Fayetteville on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 3 pm with ministers Pastor Richard Williford, Pastor Ken Boyd and Pastor Tim Cowan officiating. Burial will be Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 2PM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC with Full Military Honors. He is survived by his Wife; Tara Denise Jackson Smith, sons: Craig Alan and Peyton, daughter, MacKenzie; Stepson,Andrew; sister,Sharon Atkins and her husband Terry of Boiling Springs, SC, their children-Niece, Emily, Nephew, Kyle and his wife Lindzie and many other beloved family and friends; including very special Mom & Dad: Frank and Mattie Jackson. Craig was a beloved son,brother,husband,father ,faithful friend and loved his Lord and church family. He was a former member of Beaumont Baptist Church of Spartnburg.
