FAYETTEVILLE - Curnie \\"Nick\\" Manus Stubbs Jr., 63, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, in Duke Medical Center in Durham. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, in Walstone Memorial Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Freddy Wright. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, 3927 Bragg Boulevard, Fayetteville, NC 28303 or to a favorite charity. Mr. Stubbs is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Kem Davis and husband Charles of Fayetteville and Lisa Bell of Fayetteville; stepson, Ronnie Cyrus and wife Stacey of South Lyon, Mich.; stepdaughters, Shannon Wright and husband Freddie of Humble, Texas, and Kelly Cyrus of Wilmington; sister, Amy Tally and husband Dee of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Brad Parrish and wife Tiana and Katie Parrish; and a great-grandson, Chase Parrish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curnie and Bertha Stubbs; and three brothers, Gerald Stubbs, Charles Stubbs and Carlton Stubbs. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
