Cyrus P. Weeks, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully Monday, May 10, 2010, in the Havens at Highland Creek in Charlotte. Mr. Weeks retired from Merita Bakery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn C. Weeks; two brothers, Floyd Weeks and Claude Weeks; and sister, Dorothy McDonald. Graveside services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in Lafayette Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ben West officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mr. Weeks is survived by his daughter, Brenda Williams and husband Tad of Concord; sisters, Aileen Smith of Chapel Hill and Georgia Hedgepeth of Fayetteville; brother, Gene Weeks of Atlanta; and grandson, Thomas Williams of Concord. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care at Lake Norman, 705 Griffith St., Suite 203, Davidson, NC 28306.
