Daisy Kersey "Miss Daisy" Lybrand, 80, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015, at 11 am in LaFayette Memorial Park West on Raeford Road with Rev. Ray Morawski presiding.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, July 26, from 6 to 7 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.
Daisy was born September 24, 1934, in Robeson County to the late Jessie and Latha Kersey. She worked in Fayetteville area restaurants for many years including the Hillcrest Drive-In Restaurant and then with Fayetteville's first Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise on Bragg Blvd. for 25 years; she then ventured with her husband, Samuel, in to operating service stations.
She attended New Hope Baptist Church.
Daisy is survived by her son, Johnny Edwin Ellett of the home; 2 sisters, Mary Quick and Jean Grover, both of Fayetteville; 3 brothers, James Kersey of St. Pauls, Donnie Kersey of Parkton, and Tommy Kersey of St. Pauls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel D. Lybrand.
Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church for Operation Christmas Child or to a charity of one's choice.
