Dalworth L. Powers, 92, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, in Carolina Inn in Fayetteville. She was a devoted mother and loving wife for more than 70 years. Mrs. Dalworth Powers is survived by her loving husband, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. William J. Powers Sr. of the home; daughter, Kathy Fawley and husband John of Fredrick, Md.; son, Dr. William J. Powers Jr. and wife Rose of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Bill Powers, Christy Bergen, Kate Frawley and Ryan Steffy; and five great-grandchildren. The family of Mrs. Dalworth L. Powers will be receiving friends from 6 to 7 tonight, Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel officiated by the Rev. Archie Barringer. The burial will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
