Mr. Damon Dee Edwards, 93, of Parkton, died Sunday evening April 14, 2013, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 2 pm at First United Baptist Church with Rev. John Cuthill presiding. The burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Edwards worked with Bowers Construction of Raleigh for more than 40 years. He primarily constructed bridges throughout North Carolina and even Maryland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Edwards; and a son, Melton Lee Edwards.
He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Bramble and husband Hubert J. Bramble of Hope Mills and Sondra Holloman and husband Ralph Holloman of Hope Mills; one brother, Jerry M. Edwards of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren, Damon Bramble, Mickey Bramble, James Holloman, Preston Edwards, Tammy Saxton, Kenny Holloman, and Edna Lois Edwards; 14 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren.
