Dan W. Tyson, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Tyson worked for Associate Transport before retiring as manager. He was a builder and a contractor. He was a member of Victory United Methodist Church and he loved fishing. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, in the chapel of Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Chris Humphreys and the Rev. Maurice Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Tyson is survived by his wife, Vista Tyson of the home; daughter, Sue Taylor and husband Joey of Fayetteville; sons, Bruce Tyson and wife Hilda, and Kenny Tyson, all of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Tina Tyson, Carrie Taylor and companion Dudley Davis, and Brian Taylor and wife Rebecca; and a great-grandchild, Leeann Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory United Methodist Church Building Fund, 404 Quality Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
