Obituary

DANIEL ZAHA FAYETTEVILLE — Daniel Zaha, age 85, of Fayetteville, N.C., died Friday, August 31, 2012. Dan grew up in Akron, Ohio until the age of eighteen when he entered military service with the U.S. Army. After leaving the military for four years (1946 – 1950), Dan re-entered military service with the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1959, and completed his military career in 1970 at Pope Air Force Base, having also served in the U.S. Air Force eleven years. After retiring from military service, Dan entered civilian life as Parts Manager with Valley Motors for Porsche, Audi & Mercedes vehicles. He retired after eighteen years of faithful service in 1988. Dan and his wife Lucille have been members of Gardners Methodist Church of Fayetteville for over forty years. He also was a member of Creasy proctor Lodge #679, a member of the Shriners Sudan Temple and the Cumberland County Shrine Club since 1979. One of Dan's greatest joys was serving as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville for eighteen years. Dan is survived by a wife of 67 years, Lucille Zaha; a son, Bradley and his wife Julie; a daughter, Sandra Bulls and her husband Bob; two grandsons, Caleb & Joshua Bulls; a sister-in-law, Wanda Campbell and nieces Bev, Pam & Jackie as well as step grandchildren and other nieces & nephews who are dearly loved. The family will receive friends and well wishers Tuesday, September 4th, 2012, from 6 to 8 PM, at Jernigan –Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, N.C. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 5th, 2012, at 2 PM at Gardeners United Methodist Church, 4555 Rosehill Road, Fayetteville, N.C. with the Reverend Herbert Lowery & Reverend Bob Bulls presiding. Mausoleum Entombment with Full Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow after the service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Gardeners United Methodist Church, 4555 Rosehill Road, Fayetteville, N.C. and the Shriners Children Hospital. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home The funeral will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2pm in Gardners United Methodist Church with Rev. Herbert Lowery & Rev. Bob Bulls Officiating Mausoleum Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors & Masonic Rites.
