Mr. Darius S. Rozier, 87, of Fayetteville, NC, died Monday, August 1, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Darius was born June 19, 1935, in Robeson County, NC, to the late Braxton Worth Rozier and Lonnie Mae Herring Rozier.  He served in the US Army and with the Bohemia Fire Department in Long Island, New York.  He retired as a mental hygiene therapy aid from Pilgrim State Hospital. He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Darius was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, great grandpa and friend to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Haynes Rozier, Wayne Rozier, Otha Rozier, Gurney Rozier and Vergie Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Isabelle M. Rozier; a son, Norman Rozier and wife Shannon; a brother, Alva Rozier and wife Adelaide; grandchildren, Daniel Rozier and wife Samantha, and Kristen Rozier; and great granddaughter, Emma Ann Rozier.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. G.C. Hughes officiating.   Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Pleasant Grove church.
