FAYETTEVILLE- Our loving husband, father, and grandfather PFC 9th infantry "old reliable" Army Vietnam Veteran David B. Gainey Jr., went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2012 at the age of 62. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday January 21, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Jernigan-Warren funeral home chapel with the Rev. Cameron McGill officiating. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park on ramsey street. During his services in the Army and Navy he received medals of recommendation and bravery. He was also a recipient of the purple heart. Surviving is his loving wife Janet Gainey, three children Sharon B. Blanks, Deborah J. Gainey, and David B. Gainey III . Four grandchildren Charles E. Blanks, Amber Blanks, Samantha J. Morrison, and Kimberly B. A. Ransom. In all our hearts we will love you always. The family will receive friends Friday January 20, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
