David Ray Hughes, 54 of Sanford, died Sunday, April 30, 2017.

David was retired SFC from the U.S. Army. As a Combat Veteran, he served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A gathering of friends will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Other services will be held in Phoenix, Arizona.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Del Ray and Sharon Johnson Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Christina Hughes; sons, Cody Hughes and wife Katherine, and Nathaniel Hughes; daughter, Kaytlyn Hughes; sister, Connie Doucette and husband Anselm.
