David Lee Irving

David Lee Irving, 61, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. He was born in Cumberland County, North Carolina, on June 20, 1964, to the late Richard Lewis Irving and Anna Jean Jarvis Irving.

David graduated from Fayetteville Academy in 1982 and later attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Shortly after he met and married Wendi Lynn Roberts who remained a devoted friend even after their divorce. Throughout his life, David was known for his adventurous spirit, love of the water, and his infinite passion for deep sea fishing.

David spent most of his life in Myrtle Beach, where he found great joy on the water. An avid fisherman, he proudly earned his Captain’s License and operated charter offshore fishing trips, sharing his love for the sea with countless others.

In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his half siblings, Richard Lewis Irving, Jr. and Cheryl Lynn Irving Robbins.

Above all, David dearly loved his daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Irving, who was truly the love of his life. He cherished every moment spent with her and took immense pride in the person she became.

He is also survived by his sister, Ann Irving Niland (Barry); nephews, Joseph “Joe” Michael Niland (Christine) and John Thomas Niland (Dana); along with other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.

A reception will follow the service at Highland Country Club.
