David T. Lanthorn of Little River, S.C. formerly of Wade passed away December 15, 2016, after a lengthy illness. He was US Air Force Retired and proud of his service to his country.

David was born on February 23, 1939 to Fred Lanthorn and Mary Lanthorn Ivey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ernest "Tinnie" and Earl "Buddy" Lanthorn and sister Ruth Stockdill.

He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Michael (Lisa) Lanthorn of Roan Mountain, Tn. and Thomas Lanthorn of Stedman; Daughters, Melinda Hoffman of Florida and Courtney Shambach of Little River; Brothers, John Lanthorn (Brenda) of Wade, Tommy Lanthorn (Debbie) of Suffolk, Va., and Donnie Landers (Rhonda) of Fayetteville; Sisters Jenny Lanthorn and Brenda Williamson of Suffolk. Stepdaughters, Tina Haro (Andrew) of Carolina Shores, N.C. and Wendy Shambach of Fayetteville; grandchildren Priscilla Haro, Phylicia Haro, Craig Haro, Mark Hoffman, Jr., David Hoffman, Benjamin Norris, Michael Lanthorn II, Lee Lanthorn (Shelley), Taylor Lanthorn, Christopher Lanthorn; great grandchildren Hayleigh, Korean, Kolten and Kingsley Hoffman; Silas, and Ruby Lanthorn.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 3 P.M. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Raymond Myrick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1-3 P.M.
