David Martin "Papa"  DeKlein passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Papa was born at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA on October 14, 1960. He continued a long family tradition of military service and earned multiple Bronze Star awards while active duty in the US Army. After retirement, he loved to stay busy by playing with his grandchildren and spoiling his pet cat, Mochi. Papa was passionate about travel and took Sita to see the world. He was the best father, grandfather, and husband. The family was lucky to have had him in their corner.

He is survived by the love of his life of 36 years, Sita DeKlein; his children, Elida, Debora, and David; and his two beloved grandchildren, Eli, and Mila.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 12 to 12:45 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
