David Richard Shaffer, 58, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Memorial services will be Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 3:00 pm in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Dr. Timothy Tyson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.

David is survived by his brother, Rob Shaffer; sister, Francesca Shaffer; sister-in-law, Cathy Shaffer; step-mothers, Kim Shaffer and Peggy Holt; uncle, Daniel Wilder; numerous cousins, and his best friends, Jason Long and David Reeser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Denny Shaffer.

The family is eternally grateful to the staff in the ICU Units at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
