Mr. David Lawrence Stone, Sr., 89 of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 in Whispering Pines Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens on Raeford Rd. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Mr. Stone was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Stone was a local businessman of 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Griffin Stone and Rosa Stanton Stone, son David L. Stone, III. and grandson James Michael Stone. Mr. Stone is survived by his wife Louise Higgins Stone, sons David Lawrence Stone, Jr., Gary Lee Stone, Richard Stanton Stone, grandchildren Andrew M. Stone, Stanton Elizabeth Stone, Rebecca Stanton Stone. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Westminster Presbyterian Church.
