Mrs. Davida Barefoot Newbold, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she was part of the Salem Bells. Davida loved her family and friends and focused most of her time on loving relationships with her daughter, Rianne and younger children. She enjoyed many friendships and was an avid BUNCO player.
Davida graduated from Erwin High School in 1982 and later graduated from the cosmetology school at Johnston Community College. She was owner and operator of The Nailery and also spent time as an employee of Who Does Your Hair?. Davida also shared her expertise as an instructor at the Central Carolina Community College, Buies Creek campus.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at 11 am in Salem UMC in Eastover. Officiating the service will be Rev. Michael Whitley, Dr. Bill Snotherly and Rev. Mary Frances McClure. The burial will follow at Barbours Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Four Oaks, NC.
Davida was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. David Wayne Barefoot; her grandparents, John and Lettie Barefoot, and Ervin and Ellen Parker.
Davida was the loving mother of Ashleigh Rianne Newbold. Also surviving are her husband, Charles \\"Randy\\" Newbold of the home; her mother, Linda Barefoot of Wade; sisters, Dawn Gallagher of Eastover and Alicia Perry of Franklin, TN; many anunts and uncles, including, Carolyn and Graylon Dixon, Vicki and Preston Medlin, Jean Pridgen and Maye parker; nieces and nephews, including Parker and Sarah Gallagher, Karleigh Perry, Lauren Rhodes, Kristy Page and Andrew Partin; and a great-nephew, Christopher Rhodes.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, Nov. 2, 2007, from 7 to 9 pm, at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville; and other times at the home of Dawn and Mike Gallagher, 1327 Steeple Run Drive, Fayetteville.
