Dayton A. Dawson, 77, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at 1 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Dr. Brian Gentle officiating. The burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. He is survived by his sisters, Violet Poole of Raleigh, Elma Pecheles of Fayetteville, Jessie Nye of Lumberton, and Charlotte Lane of Fayetteville.
