Obituary

Deborah Lynn Hubbard, age 64, passed away September 3, 2026, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was born August 1, 1962, to Ruby Welch Seals and Daniel Noah Seals.

Deborah is survived by her husband, Terry Hubbard; her son, Christopher Hubbard; stepson, Anthony Hubbard with his wife, Stephanie and their daughters, Madeline and Ashlyn; stepdaughter, Jennifer Sanchez and her children, Angel and Kaine; her grandchildren, Noah and Kenley; her sister, Denise Lynch; and her brother, Michael Seals and wife Dena, as well as many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jeffrey Seals.

A graduate of Meredith College, Deborah dedicated her career to Cape Fear Valley Health, spending decades helping others in any way she could.

In a world full of distractions, Deborah’s family was her entire purpose. While others chased worldly titles and fleeting hobbies, she focused her whole heart on the roles that truly mattered.

Among her most cherished titles was being a mother to her son, Christopher Hubbard, whom she loved fiercely until the very end. Her devotion to him was the very foundation of her life.

Her love story expanded in the loudest way possible: at a 1980s tractor pull. That first date marked the beginning of a love that would last a lifetime. She married Terry Hubbard in 1988, stepping into her next great role as a devoted wife. Together, they built a life rooted in family and wrapped in a lifetime of love.

In 2017, that life gave Deborah one final, treasured title—the one that brought her unparalleled happiness: becoming “Dram-ma” to her first grandson, Noah Hubbard.

Possessing a love that could bridge any gap, Deborah poured the very best parts of herself into Noah. She was the first to celebrate his victories and the safest place for him to fall. To him, she was everything: the best cook, his favorite cheerleader, and his best friend.

She leaves behind a legacy that will live on forever through the ones who adored her.

As Deborah faced her hardest moments, the three most vital roles of her life beautifully converged to comfort her. The profound love she spent decades pouring out as a wife, a mother, and a grandmother returned to her when she needed it most.

With Terry holding her hand until the very end—loving her just as much as he did on the night of that first date—and surrounded by the strength of Christopher and the pure love of Noah, she was safely carried through her final chapter by the family who cherished her.

A memorial service celebrating Deborah’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
