(Proctor) Kistler Hollstein
March 26, 1926 – December 26, 2022
Dell Ward Proctor Kistler Hollstein died peacefully surrounded by her children and family members on December 26, 2022. She was 96 years old.
Born March 26, 1926 in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Dell was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Sully Thomas Proctor. She is survived by four siblings: Phillip Proctor, McDaniel Proctor, Jim Proctor and Jennie Schwoebel. She graduated Salutatorian from Fuquay High School at the age of 16. She attended Mary Baldwin in Staunton, Virginia and graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with honors. While attending UNC, she met her husband Charles E. Kistler with whom she had four children: Charles E. Kistler, John F. Kistler, Karen M. Kistler and Dell K. Kelly.
In 1964, Charles died suddenly at the age of 37. Dell focused on raising her children and volunteerism in the community for the next five years. She met the second love of her life, Jean Wilson Hollstein and they married in 1968. Jean and Dell spent the next thirty loving years together. They traveled extensively throughout the world and volunteered their time and monies to the Fayetteville community and North Carolina.

Dell is survived by her four children, five grandchildren, and nine great- grand children. She was a genuine friend to all who met her and she danced her way through life with joy and kindness.
A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Fayetteville, North Carolina on January 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM, conducted by Reverend Robert Alves and James Braxton Craven. The family will receive visitors after the church service at the Kyle House for a reception. A graveside service will follow.
