Mrs.Denise Olive Cappella, 77 of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, November 3,2014 in UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Denise served as a Drill Sergeantin the U.S. Marine Corps for 12 years.

She was a member of Tabor United MethodistChurch and was employed with the hospitality industry.

Funeral services will beheld on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with the Rev. RufusAutry, officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Thefamily will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 7, 2014from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband CharlesCappella and sister Beverly Peach.

Mrs. Cappella is survived by herstep-daughters Debi Karnya, Teena Giannini and Vicki Chitwood all of Phoenix,Arizona; Cathy Hughes of Beaufort, S.C.; Pamela J. Issac of Charlotte; sisterJuanita Wright of Eastover; brothers Lyle Stevens and wife Pat of Paso Robles,California; Dennis Stevens, Jr. and wife Mary of Eastover; Mark Stevens andwife Kerrie of Staples, Minnesota; 15 step-grandchildren and numerous step great-greatgrandchildren.
