Derrell Lynn Carter, 73 of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday August 19, 2010. He was a retired SFC Army Veteran of Vietnam & Taught Brick Masonry at FTCC and was a truck driver for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Derrell and Fern Carter. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday August 25, 2010 at 2:00pm at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with Full Military Honors with the Rev. Brian Woodall Officiating. He is survived by his Wife of 50 years, Edeltraud Carter of the home, a daughter, Kitty Carter of the home and a grandson Derrell Carter and his wife Angie of Fayetteville, 2 sisters, Jo Stone of Pueblo, CO and Lee Ellen Anderson of Kingman, AZ and 1 brother Alvin Carter of La Feria, TX and 10 Nephews and 3 Nieces. in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 8300 Health Park Ste 10, Raleigh NC 27615.
