Devon Adam Guyer, 17, of 3831 Williford St., Fayetteville, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Devon attended Covenant Love Family Church. He was a junior at Cape Fear High School, where he was a member of the golf and soccer teams. He was an employee of Baywood Golf Course. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, in Covenant Love Family Church with Dr. Al Brice and the Rev. Bryan Carle officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Devon is survived by his parents, Christy Walker and Dale R. Guyer of the home; a sister, Brittany Nichole Guyer of the home; paternal grandparents, Janice and Dale R. Guyer of San Antonio, Texas; maternal grandparents, Jennifer and Harold Walker of Rocky Mount; maternal grandmother, Peggy Brown of Rocky Mount; paternal great-grandmother, Hazel Hutson of Fayetteville; three aunts, Candace Smith of Rocky Mount, Melanie Walker of Wilmington and Tambra Johnson of Winterville; three uncles, Mike Johnson of Winterville, Robert Guyer of San Antonio and David Brown of San Antonio; and cousins, Trevor and Lauren Smith, Gavin and Colton Johnson, Ellen-Marie Strickland, and William and Mary Brown.
