Diane McQueen Tolar, 74, of Fayetteville passed on April 1, 2015 at Duke Medical Center.

She was born on September 20, 1940 to Johnny and Beatrice Quick McQueen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Franklin Tolar.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 59 years, Harold Tolar; her daughters, Deborah Tolar Wright and husband Dr. Brian Wright of Mechanicsville, VA; Sharon Tolar Eaton and husband Wayne of Fayetteville and Susan Tolar Walters of Wilmington; grandchildren, Christopher Eaton, Cyndy DeGiacinto, Jennifer Molnar, Julia Baylor, Domenico Grillo, Sophia Grillo and Andrew Walters; sisters Elizabeth Collum, Barbara Deno; brother Johnny McQueen and four great grandchildren.

Diane received the Governor's order to the The Long Leaf Pine Award in 2001. She was an avid gardener and received her Master Gardener's Certification. She retired after 30 years as the Human Resource Director at Cumberland County Mental Health Department. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Friday evening, April 3rd from 6 – 8 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 4th, 3 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Scot McCosh and Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield Jr. officiating followed by burial at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
